Congressman Mike Ezell (MS-04) has been selected by Chairman Sam Graves (MO-06) to serve as the Vice Chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for the 119th Congress.

“I am deeply honored to be selected by Chairman Sam Graves to serve as his Vice Chair for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee," Ezell said. "During my time on this Committee, I have seen a strong focus on initiatives that drive our economy and strengthen our communities, such as streamlining regulatory processes to improve natural disaster response and advocating for critical port and transportation infrastructure to enhance our nation’s supply chains. This Committee truly gets things done, and I am excited to take on a more active role in championing issues that matter to all Americans.”

Background:
As Vice Chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Congressman Ezell will continue to ensure that South Mississippi has a seat at the table. Among many important items, this Congress, the Committee is expected to draft the Water Resources Development Act, which authorizes projects to improve our nation’s port and water infrastructure, and reauthorize legislation that provides federal highway funding. This position also allows Ezell to continue prioritizing the improvement of FEMA’s regulatory processes, which will help communities recover and rebuild more efficiently after natural disasters. Clearly, the Committee’s work directly impacts Mississippi’s Fourth District, and Ezell is proud to raise his voice for the region through this role.
