Jobs & the Economy

For far too long, our nation’s small businesses have been crippled by bureaucratic red tape handed down by Washington. Instead of fixing these problems, the Biden administration has doubled down. They've created new regulations that force businesses to comply with their liberal agenda.

At the same time, Biden and his progressive allies in Congress have shut down American energy production, sending fuel costs through the roof, and spent billions of dollars we don't have, causing rampant inflation. We must free the American economy and get people back to work.

As your Congressman, I'm working to cut wasteful spending, bring more high-paying jobs to America (and South Mississippi in particular), and lower the prices hard-working people pay for essentials like gas and groceries.

Key Votes:
  • Yes on the REINS Act*, which would require major rules and regulations created by federal bureaucrats to be passed by Congress before going into effect.
  • No on H.R. 2872 and H.R. 5860, which extended out-of-control Biden-Pelosi spending levels without securing the southern border.
  • Yes on the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act, which would extend provisions from the Trump Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
  • Yes on the Lower Energy Costs Act, which would increase American production of energy and critical minerals by reforming outdated regulations and permitting processes.
  • Yes on the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act, which would protect families and small businesses from IRS overreach.
  • Yes on House Joint Resolution 30*, which disapproved of a Biden administration Department of Labor rule allowing pension and retirement managers to make decisions based on social justice and environmental policies instead of the financial benefit of investors.
  • Yes on House Joint Resolution 27*, which disapproved of a Biden administration EPA rule that expands the federal government's authority to regulate private land.
