Congressman Mike Ezell (MS-04) issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s joint address to Congress:

"Tonight, President Trump laid out a clear vision for the future of our nation—one that prioritizes securing our borders, reining in out-of-control government spending, and putting the American people first. I wholeheartedly support his commitment to restoring law and order, strengthening our economy, and defending the values that make our country great.

"The crisis at our southern border remains one of the greatest threats to our national security and sovereignty. I stand with President Trump in demanding real action—finishing the wall, reinstating the successful policies that worked under his previous  administration, and giving law enforcement the tools they need to stop the flood of illegal immigration, human trafficking, and deadly drugs, like fentanyl. The safety of our families depends on it.

"The President also rightly called out the reckless spending that has driven inflation through the roof and put an unbearable burden on hardworking Americans. Washington has a spending problem, without a revenue resolution. I am committed to working with President Trump and my colleagues in Congress to pass responsible budgets, cut wasteful programs, and restore fiscal sanity to our government.

"As a former law enforcement officer, I know firsthand the importance of strong leadership and decisive action. I look forward to working alongside President Trump to turn his agenda into results for the people of South Mississippi and our entire nation.
