Congressman Mike Ezell (MS-04) has been selected by Chairman Bruce Westerman (AR-4) to serve on the House Natural Resources Committee for the 119th Congress. Within the Committee, Ezell will serve as Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife and Fisheries, and the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources. "I thank Chairman Westerman for his confidence in me. I am honored to be selected as Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife and Fisheries, in addition to serving as a member of the Energy and Mineral Resources Subcommittee on the House Natural Resources Committee," Ezell said. "With sixty-two miles of scenic shoreline, coastal Mississippi is rich in ground-water resources, aquaculture, and commercial and recreational opportunity. From the coastline, to the Pinebelt, our region is a vital hub for energy production, natural resources, and abundant wildlife, supporting both the livelihoods of hardworking families and the health of our ecosystems. Ezell concluded, "The task of streamlining burdensome federal government regulatory processes is great, but I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance the energy resurgence we began under President Trump and the Committee’s leadership. Together, we will unlock the full potential of American energy and natural resources, drive economic growth, create jobs, and secure a sustainable future for generations to come. For South Mississippi and all of America, these issues are of critical importance.” “I’m looking forward to serving with Congressman Ezell in the 119th Congress and having him as a leader on the Water, Wildlife and Fisheries Subcommittee," Chairman Westerman said. "The issues this committee works on, like coastal restoration and energy production in the Gulf of Mexico, are extremely important to his constituents and to Americans across the country.” The House Committee on Natural Resources considers legislation about American energy production, mineral lands and mining, fisheries and wildlife, public lands, oceans, Native Americans, irrigation and reclamation. ### |
