Today, Congressman Mike Ezell (MS-04) applauded Congress for advancing 11 of the 12 appropriations bills, a major step toward funding the federal government through regular order and delivering critical investments for national security, border enforcement, disaster readiness, and local priorities — including key wins for Mississippi’s Fourth District.

“For the first time in years, Congress is moving appropriations the right way,” Ezell said. “Passing 11 of the 12 appropriations bills restores accountability, reduces wasteful uncertainty, and ensures taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly. These bills support the men and women who keep our country safe, respect the hard-earned tax dollars of American families, and reflect what I hear back home — protecting our coast, supporting our workforce, strengthening public safety, and making sure Washington works for Mississippi, not the other way around. I look forward to the final bill moving forward and to President Trump swiftly signing these measures into law to complete the return to regular order in Congress.”

Through the appropriations process, Ezell secured targeted funding that will be directed to communities across Mississippi’s Fourth District, supporting local governments, institutions, and critical infrastructure.

District Wins Include:

• $5,000,000 to complete the Lower Mississippi River (LMR) Comprehensive Management Study, evaluating long-term management solutions for the Mississippi River from Cape Girardeau to the Gulf of America.

• $1,750,000 for Petal Wastewater Infrastructure Improvements in Forrest County, supporting critical upgrades to protect citizens and the Leaf River, a vital waterway in southeast Mississippi.

• $1,919,422 for the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Pascagoula Police Department, providing safety and equipment upgrades to strengthen local law enforcement capabilities.

• $1,000,000 for Jones County Junior College, benefiting the Ellisville campus and the Napier School of Design and Building Arts.

• $4,000,000 for the Coastal Railroad Rehabilitation and Velocity Improvement Project, improving freight movement and rail efficiency across George and Jackson Counties.

• $2,000,000 for the Pearl River Community College Road Infrastructure Project, supporting road construction and paving on the Poplarville campus.

• $1,000,000 for Perry County Street Rehabilitation, improving three major transportation arteries.

• $1,000,000 for Lincoln Road Phase 2, upgrading Lincoln Road from Oak Grove Road to Lamar Boulevard.

• $1,000,000 for Edwards Street Reconstruction, rebuilding portions of Edwards Street between Tuscan Avenue and James Street.

• $1,426,000 for Geospatial Science for Disaster and Emergency Management (GeoDEM), creating a partnership with the University of Southern Mississippi to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience statewide.
