2024 Veteran Commendation Project

Over 50,000 veterans call Mississippi's Fourth District home, and it is my honor to represent each of them – along with their families – in the United States Congress. As Veterans Day draws near, it's important to express our gratitude for their heroism and sacrifice.

This year, I’m asking for your help to ensure the veterans in your life and community receive the recognition they deserve. Through a nomination process, they can be honored with a Congressional Commendation for their service.

Eligibility requirements and supporting materials to submit:

  • Veteran is a current resident of Mississippi's Fourth Congressional District.
  • Veteran served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces or was a reservist called to active duty.
  • Veteran was honorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Services.
  • DD-214 form (REQUIRED).

Nomination process:

To nominate a veteran, please fill out the nomination form by clicking on the link below. Once completed, please email a copy of the veteran’s DD-214 (REQUIRED) to claire.hurley@mail.house.gov.

Submission deadline:

Please submit a nomination no later than 5:00 PM on November 1st, 2024.
