Today, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced a special counsel investigation into President Joe Biden's handling of classified documents.

The move comes after Congressman Mike Ezell and other House Republicans signed a letter demanding an investigation and answers to the following questions:

  1. Did the White House request to withhold this information prior to the midterm elections?
  2. Why did the Biden administration and AG Garland's Department of Justice fail to disclose this information publicly?
  3. Why was a special counsel not appointed and would AG Garland appoint a special counsel to investigate President Biden?
  4. Was Congress ever notified?

"The fact that classified documents were found in President Biden's garage and a think tank office is greatly concerning," said Congressman Ezell.

"I'm glad to see that the Attorney General is investigating, but there is still more work to be done. The American people deserve answers, and House Republicans will fight to ensure they hear the truth."

Congressman Mike Ezell represents Mississippi's Fourth Congressional District. He is a currently serving his first term. For more information, please visit ezell.house.gov
