Today the U.S. House will vote on House Resolution 30 which was introduced by Congressman Andy Barr and cosponsored by Mississippi Congressman Mike Ezell.
The legislation would cancel out a recent Department of Labor rule that encouraged managers of 401ks and pensions to consider companies’ positions on issues like social justice and climate change.
Companies would just focus on the return of investments made by company workers.
House Resolution 30 also increases monitoring on investment managers’ use of proxy votes on behalf of investors so their retirement funds are being invested wisely, not to advance a political agenda.
Ezell said, “Wokeness must be kept far away from our retirement accounts.”
