Representative Mike Ezell

Dear [salutation],

I've spent the last two weeks traveling across South Mississippi meeting with local leaders and the organizations that propel our local economy. After House Republicans scored some major wins in Washington, it's been great to be back in the district talking about how I'm fighting for you.

Here are a few updates from the last two weeks:

Partnering With Local Leaders

Last Monday, I had the opportunity to tour the new Hattiesburg Public Safety Complex with Mayor Toby Barker and several other city officials.

As a career law enforcement officer, I'm grateful for the local leaders across South Mississippi who make protecting our communities a priority.

This Tuesday, Petal Mayor Tony Ducker took me around to show off some major improvements to the city's infrastructure and introduce me to several small business owners.

We talked about how the federal government can help support the local community and remove roadblocks that make it more difficult for small businesses to thrive.

While I'm working in Congress to help the people of South Mississippi, city and county officials often have the most direct impact on our communities. The Fourth District has some great local leaders, and I'm proud to partner with them to help our cities, counties, and state grow.

American Innovation in South Mississippi

On Wednesday, my staff and I visited Stennis Space Center and saw American ingenuity hard at work.

In addition to serving as a NASA testing site for the rockets that once landed a man on the moon, Stennis is now home to several innovative companies working to put an astronaut on Mars.

Stennis is also an important hub for the U.S. Navy and NOAA, as well as several defense contractors that support our armed forces. I'm proud of the role Stennis and South Mississippi play in supporting critical military programs and fueling American spaceflight.

Building Our National Security

Last Thursday, I had the honor of touring the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport. While there, I met with the leadership of the base and learned more about their capabilities and latest capital improvements. This Gulfport base is home to most of the Navy's Seabee units.

The Seabees form the Naval Construction Force and are trained to work anywhere, anytime, and under any conditions. They have always answered the call to serve their country when needed, and I could not be more proud to have so many of them call the Mississippi Gulf Coast home.

Standing up for the Unborn

A week ago today (on Good Friday), the pro-life movement scored a major win. In Texas Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA, a federal judge overturned illegal FDA policies that allowed mail-order abortion.

Earlier this week, I sent an email update explaining more about the case and the small role I played in it. If you missed it, you can read the update here.

I also sent out this survey about the decision. If you haven't already, please take a moment to share your thoughts.

Do you support the pro-life ruling in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA?

This upcoming Monday will mark 100 days since I took the oath of office to become your United States Congressman. We'll be highlighting several of our key wins on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

As always, if you need help with a federal agency or have questions about legislation, please call one of the offices listed below or contact us on our website at ezell.house.gov.

It's an incredible honor to continue serving you in Congress.

Sincerely,

Mike Ezell
