This weekend, our nation will celebrate Veterans Day. We'll honor those who served us with special events and parades. But as we celebrate, it can be easy to overlook the difficulties facing so many of our veterans.
These brave men and women sacrificed for our freedom. We have a supreme responsibility to keep the commitments we made to our veterans in return for their commitment to their nation and to their fellow Americans, and too often America falls short of our end of the bargain.
Our veterans deserve our highest admiration and respect. They also deserve a government that treats them as the heroes they are. As your Congressman and as an American, I'm committed to doing everything in my power to support and serve those who have served us.
That's why my team and I have worked hard to take care of South Mississippi's veterans. In Washington, I've fought to bring back Trump-era improvements to the VA and cut wasteful spending so more money is spent on veterans, not bureaucrats. In Mississippi, my team has responded to hundreds of cases involving veterans and problems with the VA and other federal agencies. We're not slowing down anytime soon. My staff and I are proud to advocate for our veterans and to help however we can — whether that's answering questions, finding solutions, or just cutting through red tape.
