Last night, the House passed H.Res. 363, Expressing support for recognizing "National Police Week." Congressman Mike Ezell is an original cosponsor of the resolution, which was introduced by Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03). The resolution expresses support for law enforcement officers across the country and honors fallen officers from 2022.
Included in the list of 556 fallen officers are Bay St. Louis Police Department's Sergeant Steven Robin and Officer Branden Estorffe, who were shot and killed last December.
"It's sobering to see such a long list of fallen officers, including two of South Mississippi's own," said Congressman Ezell. "My first piece of legislation honored Sergeant Robin and Officer Estorffe, and I'll continue to fight so our fallen heroes get the honor and respect they deserve."
In addition to Congressmen Ezell and Guest, Congressman Trent Kelly (MS-01) is an original cosponsor of the resolution.
"Congressman Guest, Congressman Kelly, and I have often talked about how Mississippi has the most pro-law enforcement delegation in Congress with two former DAs and a former sheriff," Congressman Ezell said. "I hope law enforcement officers across our state and across our country know that we have their back."
