I'm proud to be a member of the House Committee on Homeland Security and the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
On the Committee on Homeland Security, Chairman Mark Green (TN-07) has appointed me to be Vice Chair of the Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability Subcommittee. Along with the other members of the subcommittee, I'll work to investigate DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and the rest of the Department of Homeland Security, which is responsible for overseeing our border security, counterterrorism, and emergency management efforts.
Chairman Green also appointed me to serve on the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection. After last month's TSA hack, it's clear that America needs to improve its cybersecurity.
On the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Chairman Sam Graves (MO-06) has appointed me to serve on three subcommittees: Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation; Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management; and Water Resources and Environment.
These subcommittees have oversight over many government policies that impact South Mississippi, including programs conducted by FEMA, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Coast Guard.
I'll use my spot on each one to stand up for the needs of our communities, beginning with the farmers and ranchers truggling because of Biden's overburdensome EPA rules.
