Securing More Than $27 Million for Mississippi Infrastructure

I was proud to help secure more than $27 million in federal BUILD grants for two critical transportation projects in Mississippi's Fourth Congressional District. These investments will improve safety, strengthen our infrastructure, and support continued economic growth across South Mississippi.

The largest award—$22.1 million—will fund the expansion of truck parking and advanced freight technology along the Interstate 10 corridor at the Hancock County Welcome Center. This project will increase truck parking capacity, improve freight movement, and enhance safety for commercial drivers traveling one of the Gulf Coast's busiest transportation corridors.

Additionally, the City of D'Iberville received a $5 million BUILD grant to improve the Mallett Road Multimodal Corridor. The project includes widening the roadway, improving intersections, upgrading traffic signals, and adding pedestrian infrastructure to enhance mobility and safety for residents and visitors alike.

As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I remain committed to ensuring Mississippi's transportation network keeps pace with our growing economy. I appreciate the efforts of the Mississippi Department of Transportation, the City of D'Iberville, and our local leaders who helped make these projects possible, and I will continue fighting to bring meaningful investments back to South Mississippi.

Meeting with Dialysis Patient Citizens

Dialysis Patient Citizens

I appreciated the opportunity to meet with members of Dialysis Patient Citizens during their recent visit to Washington. Hearing directly from patients and advocates is invaluable as Congress works to improve access to quality healthcare and ensure individuals living with chronic kidney disease receive the care and support they need.

Our conversation focused on the challenges dialysis patients face, including access to treatment, affordability, and protecting patient choice. These discussions help ensure that the voices of those directly impacted by healthcare policies are heard throughout the legislative process.

I am grateful to the members of Dialysis Patient Citizens for sharing their personal experiences and advocacy. I will continue working to support policies that improve health outcomes, expand access to care, and strengthen our healthcare system for patients and families across Mississippi's Fourth District.

Welcoming Mississippi Miss Hospitality to Washington

MS Miss Hospitality

It was a pleasure to welcome Miss Hospitality Mississippi to Washington, D.C., during her visit to our nation's capital. I always enjoy meeting with young leaders who proudly represent our state and showcase the very best of Mississippi.

We had a great conversation about her experiences serving as an ambassador for our state and promoting Mississippi's rich culture, vibrant communities, and unmatched hospitality. Her passion for serving others and sharing all that Mississippi has to offer is a testament to the values that make our state so special.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my office, and thank you for your dedication to representing Mississippi with grace, professionalism, and pride. I wish you continued success as you carry out your important role as Miss Hospitality Mississippi.
