When I was growing up, I wanted to follow in my dad's footsteps and become a police officer. I served 42 years before being elected to Congress, working my way up from patrolman to chief of detectives before later serving as police chief and sheriff.
I've brought that experience with me to Washington. As your congressman, I've fought to support the men and women who serve our communities, and my first piece of legislation honored two fallen law enforcement officers from Bay St. Louis.
