I was proud to have an amendment I sponsored with Congressmen Garret Graves (LA-06), Dan Crenshaw (TX-02), and Jerry Carl (AL-01) included in the final bill.
Our amendment makes a good bill even better by supporting energy production off the Mississippi coast. Energy jobs are critical to the economies of our Gulf states, and I'm always glad to work with other Members to cut red-tape and support those high-paying jobs.
We weren't the only Members to pitch in on H.R. 1. Dozens of Republicans worked together on the bill text and on amendments to create the best legislation possible. It's a great example of how House Republicans are getting things done.
Unlike Democrats (whose number one priority when they had the majority was the disastrous "For the Politicians Act"), we've focused on issues that actually matter to the American people. If H.R. 1 becomes law, you'll see a lower price at the gas pump and our nation will be less reliant on hostile foreign nations like Russia and China.
