Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3935, the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act, which reauthorizes the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), as well as aviation safety and infrastructure programs, for the next five years.
The bill was a major priority for the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I). As a T&I member, Congressman Mike Ezell participated in numerous meetings and hearings to develop the legislation.
"When I was appointed to serve on T&I, Chairman Graves told us this would be a workhorse committee, not a show horse committee. That's been one hundred percent true," said Congressman Ezell. "Today, we passed a bill that strengthens our airport infrastructure, keeps Americans safe in the air, and supports 11 million aviation jobs—and we did all of that with broad, bipartisan support."
H.R. 3935 was introduced by both Republican and Democratic leaders of the T&I Committee and its Aviation Subcommittee. The bill was unanimously approved by the Committee in June and passed the House of Representatives in a 351-69 vote.
