Representative Mike Ezell

Dear [salutation],

This week, my team and I continued to travel across South Mississippi meeting with constituents and talking about the issues that matter to our communities. Here are a few quick updates:

Honoring Our Military

I had the honor of speaking at the Gulf Coast Chamber's 42nd Annual Salute to the Military. We had more than 500 people in attendance to pay tribute to our men and women of the armed forces.

Rep. Ezell speaks at the Gulf Coast Chamber Salute to the Military

The Salute to the Military is one of the longest-running annual events like this in the country. It's a testament to the strong relationship between our communities and the military installations across the coast.

I'm so thankful for those who serve and have served our nation, and I'm proud of the way communities across South Mississippi embrace them both during and after their service.

Rep. Ezell with a WWII Veteran

As your Congressman, I'm working to support every servicemember and veteran that calls South Mississippi home. I voted to pass House Republicans' NDAA, which contains the largest pay raise for our troops in decades, and our VA appropriations bill, which fully funds veterans' healthcare and benefits.

Remembering Katrina

Over my forty-two year career in law enforcement, I worked countless storms and several major hurricanes. In fact, Hurricane Frederic struck on one of my first days on the job as a Pascagoula Police Officer.

No other storm I worked came close to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, which hit just over 18 years ago.

Remembering Hurricane Katrina

We've come a long way from that fateful August day. While we'll always remember the lives lost and damage done 18 years ago, I'm proud of the way South Mississippi has rebuilt stronger.

Join us in George County for a Town Hall

Next week, I'll be holding a town hall at the George County Public Library. I hope you'll join me on Tuesday, September 5th at 2:00 p.m.

Lucedale Town Hall Invite

I'll be speaking about how your House Republican Majority has been fighting for you and answering any questions you might have. I will also have several of my staff in attendance to help with casework issues, including problems with Social Security, the VA, and other federal agencies and programs.

Earlier this week, my friend and our Majority Leader Steve Scalise announced that he has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a treatable blood cancer. I hope you'll join our family in praying for Steve. He's always been a fighter, and I have no doubt he'll come back stronger and more determined that ever before.

As always, if you need help with a federal agency or have questions about what's going on in Washington, please contact one of my offices below or visit my website, ezell.house.gov.

It's an honor to serve you in South Mississippi and in Washington.

Sincerely,

Mike Ezell
