Representative Mike Ezell

Dear [salutation],

231 years ago this Friday, the 2nd Amendment, which protects all others, was officially ratified.

My colleagues and I swore an oath to support and defend the entire Constitution — from the preamble to the 27th Amendment and everything in between.

But some radicals have forgotten what that oath meant. They no longer believe in protecting the rights our founding fathers outlined in the 2nd Amendment. Do you?  Please take a moment to fill out the survey below:

Since President Biden took office, he and his allies in Congress have attacked the 2nd Amendment through an unconstitutional pistol brace rule, an attempted assault weapons ban, and a de-facto gun owner registry.

They're trying to use the horrific actions of a few criminals to strip away the constitutional rights of millions of Americans. They argue we must choose between public safety and personal rights. I reject their false choice.

I spent my entire career in law enforcement — more than forty years — working to protect South Mississippi, and I know that unconstitutional gun laws and regulations won't make our communities safer. That's why I'm helping lead several key pieces of pro-gun legislation.

The SHORT Act (H.R. 646) would permanently overturn the pistol brace rule and end the ATF's unfair regulation of short barreled rifles. Under that proposed rule, the gun below would be treated more like a grenade launcher than a handgun:

In addition to trying to overturn that insane regulation via the SHORT Act, I've cosponsored a bill that would keep federal funds from going to businesses that discriminate against the firearms industry. I'm also a proud cosponsor of the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (H.R. 38), which ensures Americans' rights to carry a concealed handgun don't stop at state lines.

I'll continue to stand up against anti-gun legislation and regulations because we can — and we must — keep our communities safe WITHOUT taking away the 2nd Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans.

It's my honor to serve you and all of South Mississippi in Congress. For more updates on how I'm fighting for you, please sign up for my newsletter.

If I can help you or your family in any way, please call one of my offices below or visit my website at ezell.house.gov.

Sincerely,
