I've been able to spend a lot of time this week at home in South Mississippi meeting with ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌

Representative Mike Ezell

Dear [salutation],

It's been another great week serving the people of South Mississippi as your United States Congressman. I started the week in the district before returning to Washington for some historic votes. Here's a quick recap:

Strengthening Local Economies

I was able to start my week with several stops in Stone County on Monday, including meetings with the Stone County Economic Development Partnership and the leadership of Hood Industries.

Like the rest of South Mississippi, Stone County has tremendous potential, but they're facing serious workforce issues. House Republicans are fighting to get the American people back to work because a strong workforce is the backbone of a healthy economy.

Promise Kept: Return of Regular Order

For the first time in almost a decade, the House returned to open debate about legislation. We voted on more than 140 amendments on the floor of Congress—the way the founding fathers intended.

I'm proud to have been part of the process and even more proud of what we were able to get passed.

After President Biden politicized our Strategic Petroleum Reserves (our emergency oil stockpile) House Republicans got to work. The Strategic Production Response Act will unleash American energy production to keep us prepared for natural disasters.

Honoring Our Fallen Law Enforcement

Today, I spoke on the House Floor in conjunction with H.Res.63, which recognizes and honors the lives of Sergeant Steven Robin and Officer Branden Estorffe. Sergeant Robin and Officer Estorffe, both with the Bay St. Louis Police Department, were shot and killed in the line of duty this past December.

I'm proud to say that H.Res.63 is cosponsored by the entire Mississippi House Delegation, including Congressman Bennie Thompson (MS-02), Congressman Trent Kelly (MS-01), and Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03).

Senator Roger Wicker has also introduced a companion bill, S.Res.15, which is cosponsored by Senator Cindy-Hyde Smith.

May we never forget Sergeant Robin and Officer Estorffe's selfless commitment, their service, and ultimately their sacrifice in their mission to protect their community.

My team and I are almost through setting up district offices across both the Gulf Coast and the Pine Belt. We hope to announce grand openings and ribbon cuttings soon. In the meantime, if you need help, please give us a call at (202) 225-5772.

Please forward this newsletter to your friends and family and encourage them to sign up at ezell.house.gov so they can stay up to date about how I'm fighting for them in Washington and at home.

Please also connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to get more frequent updates from my office.

It's a great honor to serve you and all the people of South Mississippi in Congress.

Sincerely,

Mike Ezell
