Now that the House has a Speaker again, we've gotten back to work to pass single-subject spending bills through regular, constitutional order.
Yesterday, we passed our energy and water development appropriations bill, which would cut over $5.58 billion in wasteful spending from the so-called "Inflation Reduction Act" — including the money allocated to fund the left's war on gas stoves.
It would also:
- Repeal Biden's disastrous WOTUS rule, which allows the EPA to over-regulate private land;
- Strengthen America's national security by modernizing our nuclear arsenal and supporting our submarine fleet;
- Increase competition with Chinese tech companies by expanding production of critical minerals in the United States;
- Keep the president from selling oil from our strategic petroleum reserves to China and CCP-affiliated companies; and
- Invest in American supply chains by supporting our nation's ports and inland waterways.
If we continue on this path and pass all twelve single-subject bills through regular order, it will be the first time the House has done so since the Clinton Administration. House Republicans are keeping our commitment to return power to the people and govern as the founding fathers intended.
